Observing Emotions is a personal emotion-observation and journaling application. This policy explains what information the app handles and how it is protected.
The app stores the information you choose to enter, such as dates, emotional-state scores, emotions, comments, tags, custom emotions, emotion-pair descriptions and quotes. It also stores application preferences, including language, theme and reminder settings.
This information is stored locally on your Android device. The app does not require an account and does not send your diary entries to the developer or to an application server.
The app may use an internet connection when you open the built-in informational pages, user guide, terms of use or this privacy policy. These pages are hosted at oe.ipieeja.org. Diary entries and other locally stored app data are not uploaded when these pages are opened.
If you enable reminders, the app uses Android notification and boot-completion functionality to schedule local reminders. Notifications are optional and can be disabled in Android settings or in the app. The app does not use notifications to collect information.
When you explicitly choose an export, the app creates an Excel or PDF file in a location selected by you. When you explicitly choose a private backup, the app creates an encrypted .oebk file using the password you provide. The backup password is not stored by the app and cannot be recovered by the developer.
Exported and backed-up files remain under your control. Anyone who has access to those files or to an unencrypted export may be able to read its contents.
The app does not contain advertising, third-party advertising SDKs, behavioral analytics, user profiling or social sharing services. The developer does not sell or share diary data.
The app is designed for local storage and offers password-protected encrypted backups. No method of storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure. You can delete entries in the app, delete exported files yourself, or remove local app data/uninstall the app using Android settings.
The app is not directed specifically to children. The developer does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
